Make it Happen Monday! #12

Sunday, October 5, 2014

Can you believe it's already October? I can't believe it's already October. It seems like it was just September... and now it's October. I can't get over it.

Last week was pretty quiet, nothing much happening. I think things are going to pick up even more though, as I really start to get to itch my wanderlust bite with some traveling. I love Caen so much, and I've been seriously enjoying exploring the city and having picnics at the Chateau, but I'm also ready to get out and see some new stuff. I'm going a little stir-crazy.

In other news, my first post for The Preppy MAG went live last Friday, which is super exciting, and it's all about avoiding pickpockets in Paris. Really important info if you ever visit a large, European city!

Also in other news, I re-did my "About Me" page, so check it out and let me know what you think!

Last Week:

1. Make my Gastronomie & Patrimoine presentation.
So, funny story, we actually don't have class the day I was supposed to give my presentation. My professor rescheduled my presentation for December 11. So no, I didn't do it. :)

2. Buy a watercolor set.
I did buy a set of watercolor pencils, and I'm in love! I love watercolors, and I feel like the colors of Normandy and Caen are just so vibrant, especially the ocean. I'm still getting used to them and playing with the colors, so maybe I'll share some soon.

3. Submit my second post for the API Abroad Blog.
Done. I'm anxious for it to go live.

This Week:

1. Update my Tumblr with more pictures.
Yes, friends, I made a Tumblr. I still don't quite know how it works, but I've decided it's going to be my photo blog. I recently applied to be a contributor for one of my favorite blogs (send good vibes, please!) and part of the application was to send links to some recent photographs. I realized that I didn't have a portfolio, and I don't consider myself to be a professional photographer in any way, but I still should have a place to put my photos, especially my photos from Europe. So, I made a Tumblr. I just want to add some more pictures to it!

2. Find a hotel/hostel/Airbnb for Amsterdam.
I'm going to Amsterdam in a month, and I could not be more excited! But I just have to figure out a place to stay...

3. Research a little bit about Bayeux and the Bayeux Tapestry.
This weekend, I'm going to Bayeux to see the famous, UNESCO World Heritage Bayeux Tapestry. After Mont St. Michel last weekend, I want to make sure I know a bit about this incredibly famous piece of French heritage.

4. Wear my rain boots.
I have never owned a pair of rain boots in my life, as it hardly ever rains in Colorado. So I bought a super cute pair here, and I've been dying to wear them, but it hasn't rained a ton. However, the two times it did rain this week, I didn't wear them (#coloradogirlproblems). This week it's supposed to rain again, so I WILL WEAR THEM.

5. Plan a trip to Brussels.
Some of my friends went to Brussels this past weekend, and it looked amazing! I've been thinking about going to Belgium, but after seeing their pictures, I really want to! My host mom's son also lives in Brussels, apparently, so it's almost like I'm destined to go!

What do you need to do this week? As always, feel free to email me or leave a comment.
