Make it Happen Monday! #7

Monday, August 18, 2014

Another week has come and gone, and I can't believe it! I feel like this summer flew by... and now everyone is gearing up for back-to-school and I'm gearing up for moving to another country for a few months. As soon as the countdown hit fourteen days, it seems like time has slowed to the speed of molasses. I'm just so ready to finally be going to France! Anyways, onto all the things I need to do this week!

Last Week:
1. Finish my paper/write up for one of my internships.
I'm almost done with it! I'm all set to send it to my supervisor this afternoon, which is sort of bittersweet. I'm kind of glad to be done, because I was definitely getting tired, but it was such an amazing internship and I'm going to miss working there all the time.

2. Finish my packing list for Study Abroad!
Done, done, and done.

3. See my allergist... again.
Also done. My allergies, eczema, and asthma are all much better. I'm going to see him one more time, but I think I'm all good to go!

4. Write my posts for the Back to School Blogging Challenge I'm participating in!
I have the first 3 days done and scheduled, a solid plan for my fourth day (keep a lookout for a vlog...) and fifth day. Sixth and seventh days are going to be finished this week, because I honestly just didn't have a ton of time this week.

5. French language exercises and final review.
Two words: Struggle Bus. But I did some quality review. I'm going to do some more this week, but I think the best thing I can do now is just go to France. T Minus 9 days!

This Week:
1. Email the Mémorial de Caen about volunteering opportunities.
One of my internship supervisors suggested that I look at the museums in the city I'm studying in to see if they had any volunteering opportunities for students, and especially since I've worked in two museums at this point. I just keep forgetting to email them. I mostly just want to see if they have any opportunities for students, because I think it would be so cool to have at least a little experience in a French museum!

2. Clean out my car and get it ready to sell.
My car is a mess at the moment... or always. I just have a lot of random stuff in it, and I need to clean it out and get it ready to sell. Not really looking forward to doing that... but it's a necessary evil.

3. Start putting all of the things I'm packing together... somewhere. Find my suitcase.
I have a super detailed list of things that I am planning on bringing, and I need to start pulling it all in the same general area so I'm not freaking out the day before I leave looking for last-minute things! Plus, I know once I start putting things together I'll realize some stuff that I don't want to bring after all.

4. Make another video!
I want to make one more video before I go just to experiment a bit with video editing on iMovie. Spoiler alert: it's going to be about books.

5. Finish some contributor applications.
Some really cool opportunities have sprung up in the blogging networks I'm a part of, and I figured I'd take a chance and apply! I know I'm not a communication major or anything, but I would love to be a writer in some capacity. I've come to the realization that if I want to be successful, I need to take risks, and put myself out there, and go for chances whole-heartedly, so that's what I'm going to do! Wish me luck. :)

What do you need to do this week? Let me know via email or in the comments, and we can form a blogger-support-network!

  1. Ahhh! I'm so excited for you that you get to go to France! I studied abroad in Besancon, but it was ages ago. Will you be staying with a family or in a dorm?

    1. I'll be with a family, which I'm really excited about! They seem really awesome too, but I'm really stuck on what to bring as a gift.
