Christmas

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Today, we took down our Christmas tree. For some reason, it hit me pretty hard this year. With everything that's happened in 2012, with all the change it's brought, it was nice to have some semblance of continuity for Christmas.

My parents and I have a tradition. Every year, we give each other an ornament. About six years ago, my parents began giving me ornaments of animals by Jonathan Adler. The neat thing is, each ornament is relevant to whatever animal-related quandary I found myself in that year. Here are all of my Jonathan Adler ornaments:

(From left to right) Giraffe, Elephant, Whale, Hedgehog, Dachshund, Turtle

My dachshund and turtle ornament (the turtle is cool, because that year, 2010 or so, my parents also got me a beautiful turtle sculpture, but the shell opens up and it's actually a keepsake box)

This year, my parents gave me a hedgehog. You can also see my dachshund and turtle.

Christmas was pretty special this year. I'm sad to see it go. But next year, it will be just as sweet I hope.

I hope all of you had a good Christmas too, and a happy new year. :)

Thanks for reading,

Zoe <3
